Berries + Cream Cold Brew

If you’ve been to Starbucks or on social media, the chances that you’ve seen the Pink Drink are pretty high. If you love that drink (I do) or have wanted to try it, this is 10x better. Am I biased? Maybe, but feel free to make it + let me know your thoughts!

This drink requires a little forethought since you need to use Ambrosia to make a cold brew tea. Cold brew just means that we’re steeping the tea in a cold environment to extract the flavor at a slower rate. When you do that, you’ll find that the tea has somewhat of a more mild + smooth flavor. It is well worth the wait + you can make as much of the tea as you’d like. Just add the other ingredients later to make your Berries + Cream whenever you want.

Ingredients

  • 3 tbsp Ambrosia

  • 16 oz spring water, room temperature or cold

  • 1/4 cup heavy cream or the milk of your choice

  • Vanilla simple syrup, to taste (recipe below)

  • Dried or freshly sliced strawberries, optional

Method

Place tea in a plastic or glass container (mason jars work great) + pour your water over the tea. You can add the tea to a filter if you prefer not to strain it later. Steep the tea for 4-24 hours.

To make the vanilla simple syrup, combine equal parts water + sugar in a small saucepan. Add a split vanilla bean or 1 tsp pure vanilla extract + bring to a simmer over medium low heat. Stir occasionally until the sugar is dissolved + set aside.

After your preferred steeping time, strain your tea or remove the tea filter. To a glass, add ice, strawberries + your Ambrosia tea. Sweeten to taste with the simple syrup + top with cream/milk. Shake or stir to blend.

Enjoy + Be Well
