Elevating Tea Time

Hey love,

You may have seen me use the hashtag, mention it at an in-person event or saw it scroll across the website + social media posts but what do I mean when I say elevating tea time? Well, here are a couple of points on one of Ora’s core values - LOVE.

Early in our marriage, my husband asked me what I would say my vice was. I quickly answered, “myself.” I’ve always been a huge proponent of self-care, affluence as is accessible (maybe more on that in a future post) + time spent alone. I have prioritized “me time” as early as I can remember…even if that was as simple as taking a book along on a family activity.

Well, when I was asked to get down to my truest WHY in founding Ora, it was no surprise to me (although it wasn’t as clear back in 2021) that my why was love. In short, we live in a world that fetishizes grind, hustle, restlessness + the need to do it all if you want to have it all. We are told to pull ourselves up by our bootstraps + get to work for a better tomorrow way more than we are told to rest + worry about tomorrow when it gets here. During the exercise of finding my why, I found that I started Ora to empower people, especially women, to take a moment for themselves. To practice my very vice…self-care.

Elevating Tea Time is less about the brand of tea you’re drinking - although let’s be clear, I want it to be Ora because it is AMAZING + blended just for this very purpose. It is about how the ACT of taking the time to do something just for you makes you feel. It is about unlocking, resurfacing or welcoming for the third time today the power of self-care: a love curated by + for you…as only you can do it.

I implore you to grab your fanciest mug, put on your favorite tune + make the tea. Take a few seconds to watch the color of the water change, inhale the aroma, feel the warmth of the steam on your face as you sip + know that you are doing something radical. You are loving yourself as a practice. This is elevating tea time. I’m so glad that you’re here.

With love,

Trista
